I feel the pain of one who cannot speak
Suffering alone because we are weak
I cry out loud but can you hear the death of the innocent one
I hear the city streets echo with the cry
Of liberty and freedom and man unified
But how do I say what I'm feeling in my heart
I've been listening for a long time and it's tearing me apart
I can't take no more of your songs of freedom
I can't bear no more of your cries of peace
As your jackboots hammer out there is no religion
You alone are blinded to the nature of belief
What have you come to, oh, dwellers of the earth
You've defied your reason and now you've given birth
To delusions of your goodness and the brotherhood of man
And all the while you've spilt the blood of innocence in this land
And I ask you now as one walking from the night
Where does your faith lie in darkness or in light
In whom do you trust when you close your eyes to sleep
What really lurks beneath the surface of the deep
I too weak for the whale in the womb
As its mothers baby quivers with the death of a harpoon
Yet for countless unborn children murdered everyday
Silence is out only sound as we see them thrown away
And now I ask you as one walking from the night
Where does your faith lie in darkness or in light?
